About London Drivers Voice
An independent platform run by licensed PHV drivers in London. We exist to give working drivers a voice on the issues that affect their livelihoods — fuel costs, platform fairness, government policy, and the coming wave of autonomous vehicles.
What we do
We publish evidence-based news and analysis drawing on publicly available data from the House of Commons Library, the RAC, Goldman Sachs, academic research, and trade publications. Every claim is sourced. Every figure is verifiable.
We track the three crises currently facing London’s 110,000 licensed PHV drivers — the fuel emergency, the 20% Taxi Tax, and the unregulated arrival of autonomous vehicles — and we hold government and platforms to account for the decisions that affect drivers’ earnings.

Why this site exists
London has over 110,000 licensed PHV drivers. Most are working-class people who keep this city moving around the clock. When fuel prices spike, when new taxes arrive, when driverless taxis are announced, drivers are the last to be consulted and the first to bear the cost.
Government consultations are technical and inaccessible. Platform communications are designed to manage, not inform. Union membership is optional and fragmented. This site exists to cut through all of that — to give drivers clear, accurate information about what is happening to their industry and what they can do about it.
